CONCEPT PHASE

AIS Environment is a leading consultancy firm specialising in consultancy for developments in the concept phase. Apart from offering guidance on how to tackle environmental impacts at an early stage in the design process, we also carry out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Appropriate Assessments (AAs) for projects which are still on the drawing board. Our team of experts has extensive experience in providing comprehensive environmental services to clients across a range of industries.

While your project is being designed, AIS will be your right-hand consultant for all environmental aspects. Our team of experts offer a range of services to support the development of sustainable projects. We provide detailed Environmental Impact Assessments that help clients to identify potential environmental impacts associated with their proposed developments. Our assessments provide detailed information on the potential risks and impacts associated with a development, as well as recommendations for mitigating those impacts.

We also offer Appropriate Assessments, which are required for developments that may have a significant impact on particular protected area or species. Our experts work closely with clients to identify any potential impacts and ensure that appropriate measures are put in place to protect the environment and minimise any negative effects.

At AIS Environment, we work closely with the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) to ensure that all our assessments meet the necessary regulatory requirements. We understand the importance of adhering to environmental regulations, and our team is committed to providing clients with the highest level of service and expertise.

We also provides a range of resources and information on other environmental assessments, regulations, and best practices. We are committed to promoting sustainable development and helping our clients to achieve their environmental goals.

Concept Phase:
Environmental Impact Assessments

What is an EIA? EIAs aim to provide a high level of protection of the environment and contribute to the integration of environmental considerations into the proposed development with a view to reduce the environmental impact.

Where does AIS come in? Our team of experts will take care of every step in the process, from Project Description Statements to the EIA Report itself. The final report will describe in detail the expected environmental impacts on noise, air quality, ecology, etc as required by the Environmental and Resources Authority (ERA). We will also lead ERA and Planning Authority (PA) board hearings and public/stakeholder consultations to present the EIA conclusions on your behalf.

Concept Phase:
Appropriate Assessments

What is an AA? An AA aims at assessing the significance of the impacts of a proposed plan or project (either individually or in combination with other proposals) on Natura 2000 sites. The Natura sites are designated by the European Union to include Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).

Where does AIS come in? AIS Environment will prepare all relevant documents for the AA process, including Project Description Statements and the AA Report itself. The final report will describe the project, its expected impact on the Natura 2000 sites and applicable mitigation measures.

Appropriate Assessment

Concept Phase:
Strategic Environmental Assessment

What is an SEA? An SEA is the systematic process of evaluating the environmental effects of a policy, plan or programme, and its alternatives.  It allows for the incorporation of environmental considerations at the earliest stages of the formulation of the Plan.

Where does AIS come in? AIS will handle the process from A to Z. We will prepare the screening & scoping reports which describe the policy and the SEA methodology. We will then compile the final Environmental report, describing the impacts which could arise from the policy and applicable mitigation measures. AIS will also present the findings to the authorities and handle all stakeholder/public consultations.
